The Apparitions are Dead. Halloween. 2006.
Darkness Falls Across The Land. The Midnite Hour Is Close At Hand. Creatures Crawl In Search Of Blood To Terrorize Y'awl's Neighbourhood. And Whosoever Shall Be Found Without The Soul For Getting Down Must Stand And Face The Hounds Of Hell, And Rot Inside A Corpse's Shell. The Foulest Stench Is In The Air. The Funk Of Forty Thousand Years And Grizzy Ghouls From Every Tomb Are Closing In To Seal Your Doom. And Though You Fight To Stay Alive Your Body Starts To Shiver. For No Mere Mortal Can Resist The Evil Of The Thriller...  Killer Diller...

Vote your hearts, Vote for The Apparitions...
Dearest friends and fans... Time is. Your service is requested. We need your votes. Lots of them. Not for congressional office, oh no... Something much bigger... And better... As previously noted, we're heading to Milwaukee next month for Summerfest - a shindig to end all shindigs, in fact. In addition to this year's show, we've been selected to participate in Summerfest's Emerging Artist compilation CD contest. If we receive enough votes, we'll find ourselves on this year's Summerfest compilation to be distributed to the many tens of thousands of concert-goers pounding Milwaukee's pavement and parks... So, pretty please, with sugar and Milwaukee's Best on top, click on the link below and cast your vote for The Apparitions. You can vote once per day, so please vote early and often... Electricity + Drums + Spin = Music You Need to Download Now...
Spin Magazine, once the bane of Axl Rose's existence , has given The Apparitions a hearty endorsement in their latest issue. The Apps' "Electricity + Drums" rubs shoulders with new tunes by Broken Social Scene, Cat Power, and Gnarls Barkley in this month's installment of "The Spin Essential Mix: Music You Need To Download Now." Pick up a copy (Red Hot Chili Peppers on the cover)- if not for us then for whatever Chuck Klosterman has to say this month...

And moving on...

The boys recently finished the last leg of their early 2006 touring season and are currently enjoying the wonderful, temperate month of April at home. May dates include stops in NYC, Western Massachusetts, and another hometown show at The Dame... On deck - summer touring... dates coming soon...

And finally... The animated video for "God Monkey Robot". is painfully, excruciatingly, and oh-so-very close to completion. Soon. Very soon. We shall offer sneak peaks very, very soon...

Do stay tuned, friends... Yes. Please. Do...

Bon voyage...
Tom Waits says you gotta get behind the mule in the morning and plow. To be truthful, I don't know much about plowing, but you do got to get behind the mule sometimes. And then other times you got to leave that mule behind. And so I'm hoppin' across the pond for some serious R&R. Both kinds, actually... A few shows here, a few days off there, and that's the skinny. Yup. Some European solo Apparitions dates in store for Mark whilst he/I vacation(s) with his/my lovely wife. Wish him/me well. Paris, Vienna, & Prague. And then back to the states just in time to take in SxSW... More full band dates coming soon, including a few runs up the east coast for our New England faithful... Onward, upward... Be well. March is here.

DC/NYC
The boys have been driving all night long (literally) to make our show in Washington, DC tonight at DC9. Dedication? Check. Heart? Check. Gasoline? Oops. One small setback, but that's why we always give ourselves plenty of time.

This news post isn't so much full of news as it is my journal entry of the day. I'm waiting for my band to pull in, haggard and sleep-deprived, so we can prepare for tonight's totally awesome show in our nation's fair capital. Friday we return to NYC for yet another crowded bill at Sin-E. For more show details, visit our, er, shows link. Saturday we head north of the Big Apple for a 2pm radio station visit at www.electriceyeradio.com, an online radio station and a 4pm acoustic in-store performance at Coconuts Music in Port Chester, NY. Do spread the word. Do come. Yes. Please. Do.

Time to walk the dog. And that's no euphemism.

As 2006 Is Futuristic...
Happy new year, friends... So 2005 passes, and 2006 arrives. Let us ring in the new year together (albeit a bit late) on Friday, January 13th (ooh, spooky, spooky) at The Dame in beloved Lexington, KY.

We're celebrating the release of our new record, As This Is Futuristic (see above), with labelmates SundayRunners from Chicago and Louisville newcomers, The Hawk. We've overcome one gnarly case of pneumonia and a righteous hernia this winter season to make this show happen, so please (pretty please), won't you join us? And do (please do) buy a copy of our new CD.

For more tour dates beyond the great state of Kentucky, please visit our Shows section...

Happy X-mas
Happy holidays, friends... Announcements, announcements, and then more announcements...

First things first: We regret to announce that our Lexington CD Release show, originally scheduled for Saturday, December 17th at The Dame has been postponed and rescheduled for Friday, January 13th due to personal, but temporary, health reasons. Fear not. We are strong. We are mighty. And we are gearing up for a busy 2006.

Second things second: We are super-pleased to announce our newest member, Sir Justin Craig of Scourge of the Sea fame. Justin plays a mean and prodigious guitar, and we're oh-so-happy to have him on board. Justin will be taking over guitar duties temporarily filled by our fantastic (and handsome) friend/producer/engineer, Duane Lundy. Duane's a busy boy with his studio, and we're getting busier each day with the new record, so a change was in order.

Please visit often, and stay tuned for upcoming tour dates, record news, and a God Monkey Robot video early next year. Oh yes. Do.

Onward...

Good day sunshine...
Welcome to our brand, brand, very brand new website... A million thank yous to Justin Morgan for the many many days/nights/phone calls he dedicated to our new home on the web. Please, have a look around. We have MP3 samples of our new record and a video in the About section that our good friend Malachai Mike made for us this fall.

So, our new record? Yes. New. Good. You can purchase advance, pre-release copies of As This Is Futuristic from our label, Machine Records, now. All orders placed by 12/15 will ship before Christmas. Orders placed now will ship as soon as our discs return from that magical place where CDs are born in a few weeks.

Our CD release show will be Saturday, December 17th at The Dame in Lexington, KY... Chicago-based label mates SundayRunners will be joining us on this very special night. Oh, yes. Rad.

Please, click around, click many times, and enjoy. It's bedtime for us... Good night... Good. Night.

Autumn Leaves
Yikes, it's been a while, eh? We're here, yes. Busy. Still breathing. The new record is finished. Finally. "As This Is Futuristic" (what? yes, new title. sort of...) will officially be released on January 10th, 2006 by Chicago's Machine Records. We've been through many trenches with this one, and we're all pleased, pretty pleased, yes indeed to have this one under our belts.

Also, our brand new (and totally awesome) website is a few weeks away from entering this brave new world. Justin Morgan, our dear friend who created the current Apparitions site, was kind enough to take on another project this summer and the results are stunning. Did we say stunning?

Yes. Snazzy. Electric.

Much to discuss in the coming months. We're already lining up shows for 2006. So many that we'll probably call it touring. But for now, rest. Must sleep. Good for you. For me. For usssssssss......

Good night. Turn off your alarm clocks. Sleep in late. Come back often... New site. Soon. Very soon.

Nighty night.
